From Speed Cameras to Tasers

The feared speed camera: it’s all-watching eye will catch you day or night speeding down the highway.

In Chevy Chase, Maryland (a suburb of Washington, DC), speed cameras have turned into money-making machines.  The town has collected so many fines from speed cameras, that it now wants to use some of that money to purchase Tasers.

Tasers, contrary to popular understanding, can be deadly, and so some residents in Chevy Chase are concerned about arming police with the devices.

In Wake County, speeding violations captured be speed cameras result in a ticket that can be paid before the court date listed on the ticket.  If the person wishes to contest the ticket, the person can appear at the court date in the Wake County Courthouse to argue the matter.
