Should teenagers engage in “sexting”? Obviously no. There’s a lot that can go wrong, including inappropriate pictures being sent beyond the close circle of friends… or ending up on the internet.
But should a teenager who sends around an inappropriate picture of him or herself be criminal charged for child pornography. You’d think that would be… excessive… to charge a 16 or 17 year old with child pornography for sending around inappropriate pictures of himself or herself.
But Alamance District Attorney thinks differently:
“If a teenager is thinking about doing it – thinking about pushing the send button – we want them to think again,” Nadolski said, adding that teens who send or receive sexually explicit texts also could face child pornography charges.
